Introduction and project check
We look at your home, your plans and your budget. You hear what is realistic in your situation, which route makes most sense and where the risks are, all before you commit to anything.

Analysis and design
We measure the home, map the structure and services and work out several layout options. We discuss them in 3D, so you understand the space before anything is built.

Construction drawings and technical preparation
The chosen design is developed into dimensioned drawings: sections, details, electrics, lighting, water and ventilation. Where a permit or a structural calculation is required, our architect and our engineer take on that part, and we keep it aligned with the design.

Budget, quotations and planning
Using exactly the same drawing set we request quotations from several contractors and installers in our fixed team. That makes the prices genuinely comparable. We lay the offers side by side, show where they differ and what they leave out, and you choose.

Renovation and site supervision
During the build we chair the site meetings, answer the questions that arise on site and check that work follows the drawings. You have one point of contact instead of five.

Handover
We walk the home for snagging items, have them resolved and complete the project with the final finishing and styling. After that we remain available for questions that come up post-handover.

Design
A complete and buildable design that you can take forward yourself.
You receive the spatial design, the drawings and the material choices needed to have the work carried out. You arrange the build yourself or with a contractor you already know.

Design and construction supervision
We design, prepare, request quotations and supervise the build.
Alongside the design we handle the technical preparation, the quotation process and supervision on site. You choose the contractor; we make sure the work follows the drawings.

From first sketch to handover the entire process is organised by us. We work with a fixed network of builders, installers, electricians, plumbers, cabinetmakers and suppliers. You have one point of contact and one schedule.

We do not publish fixed rates, because the scope differs greatly per home. After the introduction you receive a proposal tailored to your project.
Good to know
- Are you architects?
- No. Samuel Projects provides the spatial design, the architectural development and the supervision. For work legally reserved for an architect or structural engineer we work with fixed partners. We coordinate that process and guard the design.
- Are you a contractor?
- No. We do not build ourselves. We work with a fixed network of builders, installers and cabinetmakers, and assess their work independently against the drawings.
- Can I commission the design only?
- Yes. Many clients take only the design and the drawings and have their own contractor carry out the work.
- Do you work outside Amsterdam?
- Yes. The centre of gravity is Amsterdam and the surrounding region, because supervision regularly requires being on site. For projects further afield we discuss beforehand what is practical.
- What about the budget?
- We discuss the budget in the first conversation, not at the end. A design that does not fit the budget is not a design. During the quotation phase it becomes clear what it really costs, before anything is demolished.
